Electric Vehicles from Mercedes-Benz: All Electric

Gone are the days of electric vehicles (EV) with compromise. Thanks to new battery technology, drivetrain advancements and engineering breakthroughs, Mercedes Benz EV owners get road-trip worthy range, power on demand and can greatly reduce their emissions and financial footprints. Have more questions? We’ve got you covered. Find out why an EV is right for you, today.

Although it’s often possible to recharge an EV using a 120V three-prong (grounded) household outlet, this method—known as Level 1 charging—is very time-consuming. For this reason, most Leawood and Overland Park, KS EV owners will charge their vehicles using a Level 2 (240V) charging station.

If an electrician has inspected your grid and determined that you can handle the extra power consumption, they can help you install a Level 2 Wallbox charger right in your own garage! Mercedes-Benz: All Electric recommends the Home Flex charging system from Chargepoint, which can be installed with Qmerit.

EVs often cost more than otherwise-comparable gas-powered vehicles—at least before tax credits and incentives are factored into the equation. However, those who can pay the asking price for an electric vehicle will enjoy a much lower cost-to-own, for two reasons.

In the first place, recharging a battery with electricity generally costs much less than refilling a tank with gas—especially if you recharge at home. In the second place, EVs don’t require the same maintenance as gas-powered vehicles. You’ll still have a maintenance checklist that needs to be completed, but you can forget about regular oil changes.

Ultimately, the answer to this question will vary from model to model. However, with a Mercedes-Benz: All Electric, you’ll never have long to wait. With Level 2 (240V) charging, the 2022 EQS can recharge from 10% to 100% in just 11.25 hours. Just plug into your wallbox overnight, and you’ll be ready to go in the morning.

If you’re out and about or trekking long distances for a road trip, you may seek out Level 3 Charging instead! These Level 3 chargers can be found throughout the area near Kansas City and Stilwell, KS, and with the 2022 EQS, they can add up to 90 miles of range in a mere ten minutes. That’s fast enough to take this model from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes total.

On a mile-for-mile basis, EVs are far less harmful to the environment than gas-powered vehicles. Genuine battery electric vehicles produce no harmful tailpipe emissions whatsoever—and indeed, most don’t even have exhaust systems.

If you recharge your vehicle “on the grid”—that is, via power that is generated at the community level—your vehicle will still be responsible for some of the emissions generated by local power plants, which often generate power using non-renewable means. However, in communities where power is generated through renewable energy, recharging an electric vehicle is a truly green, 100%-clean process. The same is true if your home power grid uses energy generated from solar panels, for example.

Which Mercedes-Benz: All Electric EV is Right for You?

The 2022 EQS

The 2022 EQS is the first electric vehicle from Mercedes-Benz: All Electric, and it’s also the most luxurious EV that we’ll offer over the next few years. This all-electric version of the brand’s flagship S-Class sedan has set a new standard for electric luxury vehicles all around the world—and it’s not hard to see why. With generous power, a range of up to 350 miles, and leading technology features like the optional 56-inch curved glass MBUX Hyperscreen, it has everything that one could ask for in a new EV.

The 2022 EQB

Are you on the hunt for an electrified SUV? The 2022 EQB is the model to beat. This versatile and capable EV is based on a new platform, but it also resembles the gas-powered GLB SUV. Like the latter, the EQB is a compact SUV that offers seating for five or seven passengers depending on how you configure your interior. Although we still don’t have final range estimates, we know that it will charge just as quickly as the EQS and deliver plenty of power for your Kansas City drives. The 2022 EQB will arrive in the summer of 2022.

The 2023 EQE

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is one of the most iconic sedans ever made—and the 2023 EQE will pick up right where the former sedan leaves off. With features like AIRMATIC® Air Suspension, DYNAMIC SELECT®, and a Burmester®* 3D Sound System, the EQE has what it takes to change your time behind the wheel forever—and it’s expected to charge up even more quickly than the EQS. Although there’s still a fair amount that we don’t know about the new EQE, it’s already safe to say that this well-balanced model will appeal to drivers from all walks of life.
